Discover in this post where to buy makeup in Australia, with 6 stores to suit all budgets!

If you're wondering where to buy makeup in Australia, with the intention of making several purchases, let me warn you: the beauty products there are expensive.

“But more expensive than in Brazil?” Yes and no.

If you intend to use pharmacy products, you will be disappointed. Prices are similar to those practiced in Brazil, and you won't save much by buying Maybelline, L'oreal, etc. Local brands such as australis e nude, have values that surpass those of Vult e Koloss, staying in the range of who said, berenice?.

The brands high-end are a different story. Also, it's not very difficult due to the inflation they suffer when they arrive here (#cry). Brands sold at Sephora, such as Kat von D, NARS, Urban Decay, etc., They are more expensive than in the USA, but much cheaper than in Brazil. And the difference to American values isn't even that big.

Anyway, as a good blogger (HA), I visited a lot of pharmacies, had fun looking at new products, bought some that I thought were reasonably priced, left MECCA with my hands all painted up and walked past the counter of brands that I didn't have the money for. buy in department stores. So, this list of where to buy makeup in Australia has recommendations for all budgets!

My favorite stores were:

Where to buy makeup in Australia

1. MECCA

From this list, the MECCA It quickly became my favorite. She's like she was an Australian version of Sephora, with imported and local brands. I saw there: Hourglass, Stila (newly cruelty-free), Too Faced, Urban Decay, Drunk Elephant, NARS, GlamGlow and Sunday Riley.

Of the national brands, I was curious about the Lipstick Queen, with its lipsticks that change color when applied, and with the Frank Body, full of natural exfoliants.

But, for me, the most interesting thing was the store's own line: Mecca Cosmetica. The packaging is minimalist (I thought it looked rich) and I wanted to take everything! Unfortunately the prices weren't very attractive: $30 for a lipbalm, $32 for a blending brush and $40 for a tinted moisturizer. I took two miniatures: a primer and sunscreen, the best sellers according to my research, and I loved them both. They cost $17 and $15, respectively, with 15 and 30ml each.

Another curiosity is that MECCA has two different stores, MECCA MAXIMA and MECCA COSMETICA. This second exists within the Myer, department store, and is more focused on luxury brands. MAXIMA has independent units within large shopping malls or commercial areas, and sells both more popular and more expensive products.

And, of course, as I know that values also matter, here is a price comparison:

The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealar concealer officially costs R$179 in Brazil. At MECCA it costs $44, something around R$102 reais with the current conversion. Is it more expensive than in the United States, where the same purchase would cost US$30, more or less R$92? Yes. But it's still a huge difference from the price here in the country. Eu I think it pays off.

Do you want to buy makeup on your trip to Australia and don't know which stores to visit? This is MECCA, which sells both high-end and luxury brands. Check out other stores and options for all budgets in this post, just click on the link!

2.Sephora

Surprise (#justnot). Continuing with brands premium, I could not fail to mention the Sephora. Despite it being pretty much the same everywhere, I noticed some curious differences in Australia that I think are worth mentioning:

Everything sold at MECCA not sells at Sephora. This means that all the brands I mentioned above are not sold by the makeup giant, and you may miss some things when looking for the items on your list. I recommend going to shopping malls that have both stores, so you can't go wrong. Anyway, at Sephora you can find Anastasia Beverly Hills, Cover FX, It Cosmetics, Kat Von D, Tarte, Becca and Zoeva.

For those who are used to accumulating points at the Beauty Club, in Australia it's called Beauty Pass and, I'll be honest, it's much worse than the American version. More expensive rewards, limitations on how much can be redeemed per purchase, birthday gifts only with online purchases… Even in Brazil this part is better.

Regarding prices, it is the same situation as MECCA. It's more expensive than buying in the United States, but still cheaper than buying in Brazilian stores. The only brand that can be officially compared is Kat von D, where the Lock It concealer costs R$169 in Brazil, while in the ~land of kangaroos~ it costs $32, around R$75.

Did you know that Sephora is also a great store option to buy makeup in Australia? Yes, but it's certainly not the only one! Discover in this post another 5 stores that sell beauty products for all budgets in the land of kangaroos.

3.Priceline

I don't know if I've already commented here on the blog, but Australia was the first country I visited after becoming interested in makeup, and it was in Priceline that I'm done.

It is the equivalent of large American pharmacies, such as Walgreens and CVS, with several “cheap” brands such as Physicians Formula, Maybelline, L'oreal, Revlon, Jasmine, essence... Oops, did you notice the quotation marks there? It's because, unfortunately, even drugstore makeup there is Tsar.

I had plans to buy several Australian products to make the equivalent of my 7 cheap makeup brands to buy in the USA. But it didn't happen, because the prices were absurd. Compact powder and blushes for almost $20, nothing compared to elf or wet n wild which has these products for US$3.

Anyway, of the places to buy makeup in Australia, Priceline is one of the coolest. In addition to the imported brands I already mentioned, there are also several national brands that look great, such as nude, australis, NATIO, Savvy and Models Prefer (the store's own line).

Walgreens and CVS? Anyway, in Australia the pharmacy to buy makeup is called Priceline, and it has a great selection of national and imported brands! Discover 5 other stores to buy beauty products in Australia in this post!

4. Gloss Accessories

Gloss, one of the few places I found “cheap” makeup! Despite selling brands such as OPI, Maybelline and Revlon, the majority of the store is occupied by BYS Cosmetics, which has a selection of shelves and shelves of products.

There are eyeshadow palettes (which are very similar to Urban Decay's Nakeds), contour palettes, lipsticks, eye pencils, nail polishes, blushes, brushes, beauty sponges and so on. There were so many options that I ended up taking nothing, because I couldn't choose hahaha.

Based on the reviews, I don't think it's a high-quality brand, but It seems like a great deal for those who are just starting to put together their kit. and want some cheap options.

Some of the BYS palettes are very reminiscent of Urban Decay's Nakeds.

5. Chemist Warehouse

It is difficult to explain the Chemical Warehouse, because it is a mix of American pharmacy with o, with better prices than other cosmetics stores but with a not so good selection. Yeah, I know.

The truth is, when talking about where to buy makeup in Australia, this is not one of the best options. I saw few displays that weren't Maybelline or Revlon, and most were unknown brands. What really draws attention are the perfumes. From those signed by celebrities (if the unit is large, there are hallways just for Fantasy lol) even the popular ones like One million e Euphoria, with a price abaixo from the market.

I've wondered if the store sold fakes. but concludes that it is not. This is one of the biggest franchises in Australia and I find it difficult that it reached that level with fake merchandise. On my other visit I bought one Curious and a Hidden Fantasy of Britney and they were both original.

Here's the tip: If you are going to buy other hygiene items, such as shampoo, vitamins, medicines, lens solutions, etc., the Chemist It is also usually cheaper than other pharmacies.

Cheap perfumes and beauty and hygiene products, that's Chemist Warehouse's proposal. Discover this and 5 other stores where to buy makeup in Australia in this post!

6 Target

Anyone who follows the stories blog on Instagram (follow @alyssapradoblog) knows that a Target it's my favorite store. And, despite being much smaller than the American version, the one in Australia has a beauty department with really cool brands, such as NYX, essence and the Balm. I also found, to my surprise, the Sleek! It's popular in Europe but difficult to get in the USA, I've never seen it in person.

But for me, the Australian Chi chi was the big highlight. With several fashionable products, it had everything to be my choice if it weren't for the prices. The palette of 12 neutral eyeshadows, for example, very similar to the Koloss one, cost $22!!

Target is also a great option for buying makeup in Australia, cheap and with a great selection of brands! Discover 5 other stores with beauty products for all budgets in Australia in this post.
