Recently I made a post teaching how to create a travel itinerary.

I taught all my tricks, from from finding cool programs to how to fit activities into each day. It's not a difficult process, but it can be quite laborious, especially if you still have no idea what to do at your destination.

Even worse is when you don't know where write the script. In a Word document separated by days, to take printed? In a spreadsheet on Google Drive so you can access it from anywhere? Write everything by hand old style same?

Luckily, I found a website that solves all these problems.

Not only does it show you the main attractions in the city, it calculates the time between them, how long you will spend visiting them, lets you create your own itinerary and even shows everything on an interactive map!

Today I'm going to show you how to use SygicTravel, a website for creating travel itineraries.

I confess that when I invited Amanda to accompany me on a trip to Thailand at the beginning of May, I hadn't done any type of research. The opportunity arose on my flight back from Australia, and I grabbed it without thinking twice.

I knew it was a place with lots of parties, beautiful beaches and that somewhere you could spend the day with elephants in an ethical way. But just that.

I didn't know if May was a good time, if it was a cheap country same or if everyone exaggerated, if they needed a visa, if it was safe for two women alone…

This is not the best way to plan a trip.

The trip took shape over the following months, and we discovered some mistakes we made before even leaving home, such as going during the rainy season or buying a round trip via Phuket, in Amanda's case.

We were very lucky and the trip was incredible, but something could easily have gone wrong due to our lack of organization and research. before to buy tickets. I suggest you read everything you can in advance, and be a better traveler than me! haha

Discover in this post how to create a travel itinerary

Putting together a travel itinerary is like putting together a puzzle.

The difference is that, instead of parts, there are packing list that need to be fitted in the best way possible.

This comparison used to make me uneasy, because I'm not the best person at solving puzzles. In fact, when I got my first one, I had to try it several times, and it only had four pieces!

Fortunately, with practice and help from my mother, I discovered that there are some tricks to solving the game more efficiently: starting at the edges, joining parts with similar colors, etc.

And the same goes for scripts.! At first, it seems complicated or even impossible to put one together. After a few tries, however, you learn tricks that make this part of travel planning simple and even fun.
