The first time I went to the United States I did almost no research, much less about shopping. I didn't know which famous brands or stores everyone wanted to visit, and I came back with a practically empty suitcase.
I thought it was easier to buy in Brazil, but when I compared prices I realized I had made a big mistake. Makeup, electronics, sneakers, perfume… Practically all it was cheaper in the US, even when the dollar was sky high.
Fortunately, I have already returned to the country a few times and, after searching a lot on the internet, I discovered what the best stores to shop in the United States. I've finished myself a few times (#longing), and it has always paid off in terms of prices here at little land.
I've gathered some of the best stores in this post! There are everything from Brazilian favorites, so you don't miss out on trends, to some that are local favorites and that I think are unmissable. If you have a chance, too I recommend visiting one o, where prices are even better.

AMAZON.COM
My favorite store to shop in the United States is Amazon. It sells products across all categories, from makeup to electronics, clothing, homeware, sports equipment, and more. The prices are usually better than in physical stores, and there is much more variety. You can have your purchases delivered to your hotel, or use the service Amazon Locker.

super stores
Super stores are those that sell all: electronics, clothing, makeup, decor, homewares, toys, entertainment and even food. They are ideal for those who want to save time and money, as in addition to being cheaper, they bring together a large selection of brands and products in one place.
Walmart
With slightly better prices than its competitors, I like Walmart to buy cheap souvenirs and electronics, like pen drive ou power banks.
Target
One of my favorites, Target sells super cute and affordable home decor items! I also like the selection of clothes, makeup and cosmetics!
Pharmacies
Walgreens
One of the largest pharmacy chains in the USA, Walgreens offers a wide variety of brands and, with the exception of the most popular units, usually has a good stock. Great for buying makeup and skin and hair products.
CVS
Another large American chain, I confess that I prefer CVS because the prices are lower and it's easier to find brands like elf and Physicians Formula. If possible, get a loyalty card to get discounts.
STORES WITH DISCOUNTS
These are stores that sell branded items at very low prices, even cheaper than in the outlets. I've found workout clothes from Nike and New Balance for less than US$10 a piece, Skechers sneakers for US$25 a pair and even luggage from Sansonite for US$60. I suggest going at the beginning of the day as they tend to be disorganized (the amount of products is huge!).
ROSS – Dress for Less
Prices at ROSS are usually cheaper than in other stores of the same style, which is why it is a favorite among Brazilians. I like to buy creams, workout clothes and bags.
TJ Maxx
With more expensive brands, TJ Maxx is great for buying quality makeup and cosmetics at an exceptional price. I've already found palettes from Anastasia Beverly Hills and NARS.
Electronics
Best Buy
The best-known electronics store for shopping in the United States, at Best Buy you can find computers, cell phones, televisions, household appliances, cameras and even drones!
BH Photo Video
With a single unit in New York, B&H is ideal for anyone looking to buy cameras and accessories. Anyone who is passionate about photography will want to take the entire store home.
Sportive articles
REI
REI sells outdoor supplies. There you can find backpacks, tents, camping equipment, clothes, equipment and more.
Dick's Sporting Goods
Similar to Decathlon, Dick's offers the largest variety of sports equipment and fitness clothing.

Hi Vivi! Where the stores are depends a lot on which city you go to. My suggestion is to open the Google Maps app (or on your computer), enter the name of your destination and, when the map is showing it, you search for the name of the stores you want to go to. It will show a list and place the points on the map! If you know of shopping malls in your destination, I also suggest visiting their websites and seeing the list of stores in each of them 🙂
