I hate flying on planes.
There are hours and hours of boredom and discomfort. On lucky days, the in-flight entertainment system is packed with new releases in the cinema. In the unlucky ones, the films are all in another language and without English subtitles.
I even wanted to be one of those productive people who works during the flight, but my willpower dissipates within a few minutes, along with the battery in the flight. notebook, lol.
With practice, after several not-so-good experiences, I've developed some habits that keep me busy and relaxed for as long as possible. And that's what I want to teach in this post!
Remembering that these are just suggestions, and you don't need to do any of that. If you can sleep for hours on end, work or anything else, enjoy and make good use of the long hours! : )
How to Survive Long Flights
Have a fun beauty routine
I got this idea after watching a video on Lisa Eldridge's channel, where she shows off her beauty routine on the plane. There were several masks, serums, moisturizers, hair creams and I found it really fun.
Due to prolonged exposure to air conditioning, the skin tends to become drier. To combat this problem, I bought the overnight face mask Sleep Mask Vitamin E from The Body Shop, and I pass it in the first few minutes. If you're wearing makeup, I recommend taking makeup remover wipes to clean your skin first.
I like to keep passing lip balm to moisturize your lips, and a specific cream for your hands, as mine tend to be dry. If you want to do something even more , you can take the opportunity to apply one of those night creams for your hair. Test it beforehand to see if it's light, otherwise you run the risk of dirtying the plane seat (where you'll probably lean on it to sleep later).
Under no circumstances use perfume. Never. Not just because other passengers may not share your taste in fragrances, but because some of them may be allergic. Don't make the flight uncomfortable for other people for the sake of your beauty. If you are going to adopt a routine like this, choose products with mild or fragrance-free scents.

Drink lots of water
Products help maintain hydration in the skin, but it's even better to take care of yourself from the inside out. You can buy a bottle in the boarding area to drink before your flight, or ask the flight attendants for a few glasses during the trip.
Bring snacks and snacks during the flight
I can't count the number of times I've been hungry on a plane. Although the meals are complete, including dessert, they don't always last for hours. My solution was to buy snacks to eat every hour, like cereal bars or chocolates.
Give preference to foods that do not contain peanuts or other allergens. I read a story from a girl on a Facebook group, where she said she would go into shock in less than 30 seconds if someone opened a bag of peanuts during the flight. I confess that I didn't imagine it could be something so extreme, and from that day on I paid more attention when choosing my snacks. #be kind

Bring some source of fun
I always think about the possibility that I might be the prized passenger whose entertainment system doesn't work. Imagine spending 13 hours without having anything to watch?
To make sure I don't go through this, I take several options to have fun. I download some series and films on my notebook, update the reader of e-books with new titles, I create new playlists on Spotify… I even downloaded a guided meditation app (and still use it today).
Find something you like and take it very from that. Better to be safe than to die of boredom.

Take care of your immunity and rest
Traveling is a stressful time for the body, and tends to lower immunity. If you can, take advantage of the time to sleep or at least relax by watching a movie. If you don't fall asleep easily, bring items to help you become more comfortable. One neck pillow, sleep mask e headphones that cancel external noise They are a good choice!
Remember to bring coats, a pair of socks and other items of clothing to keep you warm! Don't be like me, who didn't dress warmly during the trip to France and spent the week in the city with horrible tonsillitis, unable to get out of bed. A giant scarf is also a good option, as it serves as both a blanket and pillow.
Don't forget to get up from time to time, stretch your legs a little and stretch. Flights are known to aggravate circulation problems, and these habits can prevent more serious problems such as thrombosis. Compression socks also help!

Take a toiletry bag with you before landing
If you want to spend even more time, take a toiletry bag with items to get ready before landing. Toothbrush and toothpaste (in a small size), hairbrush, deodorant and some makeup will take up a good few minutes.
It's great for those who are going to get off the plane and go straight to an appointment or have little time in their itinerary to get ready at the hotel!
And that's it! I know it may seem exaggerated to some people, but when you have another 11 hours ahead of you, it's worth it to have fun, right?
And you, do you have a well-defined routine to survive long flights? Are you going to adopt some tips from this post? Tell me in the comments!

I loved Alyssa's tips, I had never thought of a beauty routine to do on the plane. And you know it's great, my skin gets super dry on my hands, especially even though I have oily skin.

Hi Gisa! I thought it was a bit exaggerated when I watched the video, but when I did it I loved the result! It doesn't even look like your skin has been on a plane! 😀 Take a hand cream that will solve your problem quickly!
It's worth mentioning a health issue here. I've always taken a Dramamine and didn't care if I woke up at the end of the flight and couldn't put my shoes back on. Guys, this is serious business. It's worth seeing an angiologist. I wear compression stockings and take phlebom. But each case is different. And never sleep on a flight again. At most, a few naps. Drink lots of water to stay hydrated and wake up every 2 hours to walk to the bathroom. Stretch your legs. Don't mess around with this. It can ruin a trip and your life. Tired the next day? Never. The adrenaline from another trip won't let you.
Hi Deb!
Great recommendation. I sleep during the flight but I always wake up to stretch my legs every now and then, and always water!!
Kisses and thanks for the tip 🙂
Great tips, thanks.
They will be extremely useful.
Enjoy the trip! <3
I loved the tips, in October I will travel to Portugal. The beauty routine is interesting.
Enjoy the trip! <3
Good tips. I'm going to Australia in a few days and the second flight is 17 hours! 😭😭
Hi Denize! I've already taken this flight twice, it's difficult but sleeping a lot, reading and watching movies goes by quickly! Kisses and have a good trip! 🙂
