Here on the blog there are tips on what to do, how to get around the city without a car, a list of free tours and even more about LA. But the question many of you ask me is: How to put it all together and plan a trip?
With that in mind, I wrote a Itinerary for Los Angeles, with ideas on how to enjoy up to 7 days in the city. If you don't have all that time, here's a warning: the first two days are unmissable, with the tourist attractions that you can't miss.
It even includes suggestions for where to have lunch and small changes that might appeal to different groups.
Itinerary for Los Angeles
Day 1: Walk of Fame and Griffith Observatory + Hollywood Plaque
Morning
Starting with the most famous tour that cannot be missed on a visit to the city: The Hall of Fame! Get ready to take a photo with your favorite stars and stop by lots of souvenir shops!
I recommend arriving in the morning and starting the walk at Vine St. and Hollywood Blvd. From there, just head towards La Brea Blvd, so the street becomes friendlier, full of tourists, famous stores and newer stars. If you go early and don't go into all the stores, you can walk through everything in a few hours.
If you're only interested in the newer part and don't want to spend a lot of time there, just start on Highland Ave. instead of Vine St. You'll still pass by the most famous attractions, such as the Wax Museum of Madame Tussaud and the Chinese Theater.
For lunch, you can find some restaurants inside the Hollywood & Highland shopping mall. For those who want a more Californian option (if that expression exists hahaha), on Sunset Blvd. with Orange Dr. has a In N Out Burger, a famous local fast-food chain. O Bossa Nova, a Brazilian restaurant, is located on the corner of Formosa Ave. and Sunset Blvd.
Afternoon
Then, it's worth taking an Uber (or car) and going to Griffith Park, where there are three trails to get to the famous Hollywood sign. Wear comfortable shoes, stay on the marked paths and keep in mind that the shortest route is at least 3 miles (approximately 5 kilometers).
After that, you can pass the Griffith Observatory, which has the best view of the city. The observatory itself is also really cool, full of curiosities and with a telescope open to the public.
If you are traveling in the summer, you can leave the Walk of Fame until 3 pm and there will still be time to complete the tour. You'll even be lucky enough to see the sunset from up there!

Day 2: Santa Monica Pier + Third Street
Morning
Do you know Rocket Power pier? So, that's where the second day of the Los Angeles itinerary begins! O Santa monica pier It's where everyone enjoys sun and beach weekends! There you will find souvenir shops, a historic carousel, an aquarium and even an entire amusement park!
Take advantage of the morning to have fun and have lunch there. My suggestion is Albright, seafood, or Bubba Gump Co.! If nothing suits you, you can go into the city and look for other restaurants.

Afternoon
Continue exploring the place and go to the Third Street Promenade, the most famous boardwalk in the city. At the beginning of the street is the Santa Monica Palace, shopping mall with designer stores and a reasonable food court. For those who like the series The Big Bang Theory, there is a Cheesecake Factory.
Third has several musical performances and stores for all tastes, from fast-fashion stores like Forever XXI to technology stores like Apple. If you don't want to shop, following the street to the end (it's floor, see?) you end up in an incredible Canyon.
Take the opportunity to end the day watching the sunset on the beach!

Day 3: LACMA + The Grove + farmers' market + Beverly Hills
Morning
This time we are going on a cultural tour: the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Admission costs US$15 for those aged 18 and over and there are numerous exhibits. It was even the museum that appeared in one of the episodes of Modern Family where Alex, Manny, Mitchell and Cam will spend an afternoon having fun.
When you finish your visit, go to the The grove, incredible open-air shopping mall. In addition to the shops, the decoration is beautiful, full of trees, there is an artificial lake in the middle and it is delightful on sunny days.
However, its main attraction is the Farmer's Market, where you will find hundreds of stalls with freshly made food, vegetables, seafood, sweets and other delicacies.
For lunch, the restaurant Pampas Grill serves traditional Brazilian food and operates on a buffet system per kg. For dessert, I recommend the traditional English toffee fudge from Little John's.

Afternoon
Don't feel in a rush to leave The Grove. The surrounding area is full of cool stores, like a Trader Joe's and a Whole Foods, that sell various natural cosmetics. There is also a huge CVS and K-mart, and a ROSS for those who like to buy cheap clothes.
Afterwards, the tip is to take a trip to Rodeo Dr. in Beverly Hills, 20 minutes by bus away. There isn't much to do there other than admire the expensive stores, the beauty of the surrounding streets and visit the park with the “Beverly Hills” fountain and sign. It's fun, but in just over an hour you've already seen everything.

Alyssa, what a great tip. I only stayed in LA for one day, I didn't get to see anything, I'll definitely be back with your tips in hand. I will share.

Hi Alyssa, how are you?
Thank you for sharing such a rich itinerary with us! Full of interesting tips and details! I'm loving it and will explore your page much more. Thank you, again.
I'm glad you liked it! <3
We only stayed in Los Angeles for 2 days, we saw some of the places you recommend here, we need to go back with more time, I confess that it was a city that didn't enchant me, but I want to give it a second chance to see if I can change my opinion.
I confess that I also liked it more after visiting it a few times! But LA has attractions for all tastes, I'm sure that when you return you will find something that suits you! 🙂
Very good!!!!
