Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips Liquid Lipstick Review

I've never been a person to wear lipstick.

Look, it's not that I didn't have several some, but they were almost always forgotten in the drawer.

When I started to get interested in makeup, MAC's Snob lipstick was all the rage. That pink beeeeeem cold, which to be honest didn't do me any favors, you know?

And of course, they all had to have that super dry texture, which left any skin on the lips showing. And even so, after two hours there was no longer any lipstick on my mouth!! After eating then, a sadness…

Well, you can understand why I wasn't a big fan of this product.

But everything changed when the craze for matte liquid lipsticks began.

I confess that I was very intrigued: , the a lipstick can be liquid e kill at the same time?

I saw several brands being recommended by channels, both international and national, and decided to buy Colourpop liquid lipsticks Ultra Matte Lips. I ordered the color Lumière 2, a partnership between the brand and the YouTuber Kathleen Lights.

I was delighted. Guys, what a thing INCREDIBLE (even in caps). It's easy to apply and the lipstick lasts forever!

No, forever is not enough. I went to a graduation ceremony that started at 10 pm, and at 10 am the next day I was removing my lipstick with makeup remover (!!!).

After that I decided to buy two more colors, but different from what I was used to. No cold pink lipstick, please!

My first choice was Beeper, influenced by a photo on the brand's Instagram. It was a beautiful swatch and one of the most beautiful colors I've ever seen in my life.

On the website its description is a “warm medium taupe”. A warm light brown is how I typed it before looking, so I think it's right there.

I found its duration a little shorter than that of Lumière 2, but nothing that diminished my love for it. I usually keep it in my bag in case I need a touch-up after eating, but it usually doesn't do that much.

I posted a selfie on Instagram in which I had been using Beeper for about 5 hours. She survived until lunch at the halfway point.

My third pick from the Colourpop liquid lipsticks is actually a dupe of a Jeffree Star Cosmetics lipstick in Androgeny. But I would never pay $18 for a lipstick, I can't. I Googled it and saw that the brand had an identical dupe, so I decided to take a chance.

O Stingraye It is also a brand partnership, this time with the YouTuber Raye Boyce. She wanted the lipstick to be “a color that everyone can wear and feel confident in.”

The Colourpop website describes it as a “cool mauve brown”. The first time I used it I thought the lipstick was purple.

And not a purple-turned brown, PURPLE! Of course the tones vary depending on the lighting, the color of the person's mouth, etc., but it was very different from what I expected.

Using it a couple more times and taking photos in natural light, I saw that it is very brown, yes. I don't know if it's the fluorescent light that makes it more purple, but now I can see the similarity with the swatches.

This one doesn't even come out with a lot of prayer. I even feel sad when it's time to take off my makeup because I know it will smudge lipstick everywhere. It's one of those things that I don't even carry in my bag to touch up because there's no chance him to move.

Which color did you like best?

None of the Colourpop liquid lipsticks have a strong scent, in fact I don't smell anything when applied. All three colors are vegan and, like everything published here on the blog, the brand does not test on animals.

A negative point that has happened to everyone is that the packaging wears out. As I didn't know that, I carried my Lumière 2 in my bag without a box, and now there's no longer even the brand's logo on the packaging. Luckily there's a label underneath, so you don't lose the color name.

The applicator is the common one for liquid lipsticks, like a gloss applicator. A tip for better application is to first outline the mouth with the thin part, and then fill it in. Applying a little concealer afterwards to make it well defined also helps, but don't forget to blend it well.

Each one costs US$6 on the brand's website. And something new is that now they deliver in Brazil! Shipping starts at US$15 (ouch!) and the method is First Class Shipping. I thought for this price it would be Priority, but it seems not.

Either way, it's always good to have more options on where to buy Colourpop! I asked on Instagram and readers recommended the stores Try It Importados e Tag Store Imports. I never bought from any, but I received several recommendations. For those who don't want to wait for international shipping, there's a solution!
