Why you should watch Anastasia

Despite not having been on show for so long – it only premiered on Broadway in 2017 – the success of Anastasia This is already considered a classic of the most famous theaters in the world.

The story is based on the film of the same name, and begins a few years after the invasion of the Romanov palace in Russia, amid rumors that Anastasia, a young member of the royal family, might have survived the invasion.. Aware of this possibility, young Dmitry and former member of the Royal Court Vlad Popov plan to carry out a coup against the Russian Dowager Empress, and present a random girl as her missing granddaughter. Anya, an orphan who lives on the street, ends up bumping into the two men, and is chosen to play the role.

The plot is already known to the public, but it has some changes to surprise those in the audience. The most famous songs from the film, such as Once Upon a December, A Rumor in St. Petersburg e Paris Holds the Key (To Your Heart), were maintained, as new ones were added.

Why You Should Watch Chicago

Chicago is Revival The longest running musical on Broadway, losing the longest-running musical only to The Phantom of the Opera. Its first performances were between 1975 and 1977, but its success was so great that the story returned to the stage in 1996.

The story is based on a play written by Maurine Dallas Watkins, which in turn was based on crimes committed by women in Chicago in the early 20s. Maurine worked for the Chicago Tribune, which condemned the girls' actions, while the rest of the city had a reputation for acquitting them due to their beauty.

The musical follows the story of two murderesses, Vera and Roxie, both inspired by real cases. Between their arrests and trials, the two are fighting a popularity battle, trying to stay in the spotlight and in the good graces of the media. Both become local celebrities, however, with each new crime, attention is diverted from the protagonists, causing them to resort to various tricks to keep their names in the newspapers.

The engaging plot and years of running make this one of the most famous Broadway classics, and its six Tony Awards – the most for a Revival at the time – attest to the quality of the production.

With more than 7500 performances and great fame, I don't recommend waiting to buy tickets at the box office, as they will probably be sold out. Take the opportunity to buy in advance with WePlann, and get the best seats available, in addition to being able to pay in 6 interest-free installments or up to 12 installments with low interest!
