In addition to attractions for all types of tourists, Cape Town also offers accommodation to suit all budgets.. Much visited by travelers from various parts of the world, it is easy to find in the region from five-star hotels to hostels simpler.
When I was planning my trip, my idea was to save money trying not to give up some comforts, such as air conditioning and individual sockets to charge my equipment (as well blogueirinha). Therefore, during my search I gave preference to boutique hostels. These types of hostels tend to be more modern, with natural current and with the preferred amenities of millennials.
A cheap accommodation in Cape Town that fit this description was like some that I showed in this post with an itinerary for 5 days in the city.
The accommodation is close to several bus stops, which makes getting around using public transport easy, and also close to one of the Sightseeing Bus stops, that red tourist bus that passes by tourist attractions.
Near the hostel there are also several restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, as well as the Greenmarket Square street fair. At conventional times (everything in the city closes early), we had no difficulty finding somewhere to eat in the surrounding area.
The location was super practical and central, and even for more distant trips the price of uber it was very cheap.
Facilities at 91 Loop Hostel – Cheap accommodation in Cape Town
upon arriving at hostel, the reception with helpful and organized staff makes you feel at home. At first you can see the local restaurant and bar, as well as the pool, ping-pong and foosball tables, which gives the atmosphere a young and relaxed atmosphere.
The restaurant, called Honey Badger, is open until late hours (by Cape Town standards, the kitchen closes before the bar), and serves dishes such as pizzas and drinks. The place is open to any visitor, but guests of the hostel There is a special discount depending on the day and time. It is possible to sit either at the bar counter or at the various tables and armchairs spread throughout the room, and it is not uncommon to see people working with their laptops there during the day.
It is in this environment that breakfast is served – already included in the daily price. Every day was a variety of bread, jam, peanut butter, fruit, cereal, yogurt and sometimes pancakes or eggs. Coffee and juice are also served!
Still on the first floor is a common area that resembles a garden, with several sofas where people gather and chat, and where some games organized by the hostel staff take place. Overall, the place is super pleasant and you can relax even outside the room!
It is important to remember that, if you like shopping at the market and cooking to save money during your trip, this is not the ideal accommodation, as there is no kitchen for guests to use.
If you have a car, there is a parking lot nearby that costs on average ZAR144 per day.

rooms
At this cheap accommodation in Cape Town, my friend and I stayed in an eight-bed female dorm. The room was basically divided into two parts, two bunk beds on one side and two on the other. The mattress is super comfortable (one of the best among all the hostels I've stayed in) and each bed has its own light and individual socket.
Os lockers They are located under the bunk beds and are closed with a metal screen. I found it very spacious (it easily fits a large suitcase), and I had no problems putting my backpack on and leaving some things out while still inside the closet. Padlocks are not provided, so bring your own or buy one at the hostel.
The room also has a full-length mirror, fans, a table and chair and a panel where notices and the week's schedule are posted.
If you want to try something different, the hostel also has pods!

Bathrooms
The bathrooms are inside the rooms, and in our case there were four separate doors, two for showers and two for toilets and sinks. They weren't very big, but there was no need to be bigger.
The water was hot and the shower was delicious, but as Cape Town faces a drought and lack of water, there are several warnings to take quick showers, preferably for two minutes, rs.
There are no sockets in the bathroom and they don't have a hairdryer, so if you need to use one it needs to be at the sockets in the room itself.

My experience at 91 Loop Hostel
When I made my reservation, despite numerous reviews positive, I was nervous about the 91 Loop location. Many blogs indicate that they are close to the Waterfront, while Loop Street is in the center and close to the hustle and bustle of Long Street.
I was positively surprised and found the area excellent. Lots of restaurants, shops, attractions to walk to and we walked alone at night peacefully. We don't feel insecure and every trip we take uber they had very low rates.
Employees of the hostel they were super helpful, and even when I had a problem with my lock (I lost the key), they fixed it in less than five minutes. I also really liked that they had their own activities board, so we went on a trail with a guide and transportation for a great value, as well as participating in several games in the common areas some nights. The environment is great for making friends and anyone traveling alone shouldn't have any problems finding company.
Another positive point was the restaurant inside the property, as we often arrived tired and there was no need to go out and look for something to eat.. The only negative part is that, by Brazilian standards, the kitchen closes early.
The rooms and bathrooms were cleaned every day, and in this matter I have nothing to complain about. The entire building was clean, and the facilities looked new and modern. If I come back looking for cheap accommodation in Cape Town, I will definitely choose 91 Loop again.
