Discover the best products from Rare Beauty, Selena Gomez's makeup brand. Blushes, highlighters, foundations and concealers that will leave your skin looking super natural and healthy! That famous “I woke up like this”, you know?

When it was announced that Selena Gomez was launching a makeup brand, most people didn't have much faith.

The comments on Instagram profiles dedicated to makeup news or on Reddit were not very positive, after all, besides Rihanna, there were few celebrities who managed to enter this market and launch something innovative.

To the surprise of many, however, Rare Beauty's products are excellent, winning over consumers from their packaging to their never-before-seen formulas. There are different textures and colors that weren't seen much before on the market, and each launch seems to resonate with the previous one.

Cohesion and quality, can you expect anything better from a brand?

After a few years on the market, however, what was just a small selection of products now has several lines and even skin products. Therefore, it is not uncommon to be unsure of where to start with the brand. What to Buy?

To help you, in this post I gathered the best products from Rare Beauty, those that, even after years, people continue to buy and want to have all the colors. Is there a greater proof of success than that?

Best Rare Beauty Products

The list includes some products that have been the brand's flagship products since launch, as well as some recent new products. Let's go:

Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

Soft Pinch Liquid Blush is a light, long-lasting liquid blush, leaving you with that super natural flushed look. It is available in matte and luminous finishes, and its formula free of sulfates, parabens and other harmful ingredients is perfect for those looking for a vegan and cruelty-free product.

Despite being light, it is super pigmented and a little is more than enough for your blush to last all day. It's easy to apply (just don't lose your hand hahaha), and the finish looks very natural.

It's the brand's best seller and for good reason, so far I've only seen praise on social media.

Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil

Soft Tint Pinch Lip Oil has an innovative gel-to-oil texture, meaning that when you apply it, it leaves your lips shiny, with a soft texture and a light color. Despite being a lip oil, it doesn't leave your mouth with that sticky feeling, and you can use it all day without feeling uncomfortable.

The formula features jojoba seed oil, which creates a protective barrier that maintains lips' hydration, while sunflower seed oil, rich in antioxidants, soothes and protects against everyday impurities. As the formula is non-sticky, you can apply multiple layers for a more vibrant color.

Find Comfort Body & Hair Fragrance Mist

O Find Comfort Body & Hair Fragrance Mist is a scented spray with notes of sparkling lemon zest, jasmine and cashmere wood. It is perfect for leaving skin and hair fresh, soft and hydrated.

Enriched with niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3 that supports the skin and hair's moisture barrier, and Ashwaganda extract, which hydrates, protects and soothes, as well as biotin to strengthen hair and skin. It is not sticky and the formula “disappears” into the skin, without leaving you with that sticky feeling of traditional moisturizers.

Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick

The Warm Wishes Effortless Tanning Stick provides a super natural bronze, with a glow that “comes from within”. Just swipe, blend quickly and that's it, it'll look like you spent hours at the beach.

The formula is a cream but on the skin it has a liquid texture, another innovation from the brand, which means that the color lasts all day and does not fade. It also makes it easy to apply multiple layers if you want a deeper bronze tone. It is currently sold in 7 colors, for various skin tones and undertones.

Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter

O Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter is an illuminator that gives your skin a “glass” effect, providing a glow natural and lasts all day.

With 50% pearl microparticles in a semi-transparent base, this highlighter is softer than the packaging looks – so if you like more intense effects, this may not be for you. It is also not ideal for taking on trips, because the product is very delicate and can break easily.

Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation

The Liquid Touch Liquid Foundation is a super light foundation with a serum texture, so despite having medium coverage, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. It is also possible to apply more layers for complete coverage, and its formula prevents “plaster effect".

The applicator is like a giant concealer applicator, so it's very easy to apply to your face and control the amount used. Furthermore, it is not just makeup, but its ingredients also act to treat the skin. With essence of Lotus, Gardenia and Water Lily, this foundation helps to calm, soften and nourish the skin.

Positive Light Under Eye Brightener

Positive Light Under Eye Brightener is a type of super light concealer that brightens, hydrates and gives you that look of someone who slept all night.

It's perfect for those who like natural makeup, as it visibly reduces dark circles and under-eye discoloration for a rested, worry-free look. As its objective is only to illuminate and not cover (this is not the brand's main concealer), only 7 colors are available. Furthermore, it lasts all day and does not accumulate, crack or mark fine lines.

Where to buy Rare Beauty?

Officially, Rare Beauty is only sold at Sephora and on the official website. This applies to both American and European Sephora, as well as Brazilian Sephora!

That's right, it's now possible to find Rare Beauty in Brazil, both in physical stores and online. Prices vary between R$169 for the liquid blush, R$159 for the lip oil, R$189 for the highlighter and up to R$239 for the foundation.

Is it worth buying Rare Beauty in the United States or Europe?

If you live in the United States or Europe, of course the best option is to buy at your local Sephora. Now, if you live in other Latin American countries, this may not be the best option.

If you live in Brazil and have access to Brazilian prices and the option of paying in installments, it will hardly be worth buying Rare Beauty abroad. Let's do the math:

  • Soft Pinch Liquid Blush at Brazilian Sephora: R$169
  • Soft Pinch Liquid Blush at American Sephora: US$23 (R$121 at current conversion)

It's even cheaper, but we have to remember that in the United States it is necessary to add the price of taxes on purchases to the value presented. On average, this tax varies between 6% and 10% of the total purchase value. Adding another 8%, then, an average, the blush would cost R$130,68.

If you pay by credit card, you still need to add another 4% IOF, totaling R$136 for the product. The difference is only R$33, and in Brazil, unlike the United States, there is still the option to pay in installments.

I don't think the difference is big enough to be worth the space in the suitcase.

Now, let's do the math for Europe:

  • Soft Pinch Liquid Blush at Brazilian Sephora: R$169
  • Soft Pinch Liquid Blush at American Sephora: €26,99 (R$151 at current conversion)

In Europe there is a tax-back scheme, where tourists get a refund for the value of taxes included in products. On average, you get 10 to 15% back, as I explained in detail in this post.

Subtracting 12% off the price of the blush, we would have around R$133, practically the same price as in the United States. Again, I don't think the difference makes up for the weight in the suitcase, especially since in Brazil you have the option of paying in installments.

Of course, some products have a slightly greater price difference and can make up for it, like the Find Comfort Body & Hair Fragrance Mist. But, overall, you will see that the prices are very similar. When in doubt, always do the math, and don't forget to include taxes and the card's IOF!

What if Rare Beauty doesn't sell in my country?

If you live in a location that doesn't have official Sephora stores, you can purchase Rare Beauty directly from the official website. Delivery is made to several countries around the world, including Colombia, Paraguay and Ecuador. At the moment, the site does not ship to Argentina, Chile or Uruguay.

Conclusion

A phenomenon on social media, Selena Gomez's brand is a must-see for anyone who likes makeup. The best products from Rare Beauty are perfect for those who like that more natural look, and they also have ingredients that treat the skin throughout the day.
